MID-IR Laser Diodes
1.6~2.4 mm SLM Laser Diodes in HHL package
Laser diodes for spectral range 1.6~2.35 mm mounted in HHL type package which include also 3-stage TE cooler, thermoresistor and monitoring photodiode can operate in pulse mode and/or both CW and pulse mode. This different operation mode allows us to cover very wide spectral range by changing the TE cooler current. It is very convenient for spectroscopy. Available temperature range in our LD construction is more then 100 degrees - from -40C up to +60C.

Standard Models LDXXXp-HHL and LDXXX-HHL are made on the base of narrow-stripe laser structures and single longitudinal mode structure (SLM). LDXXX-HHL has average power in the range 1-5 mW. LDXXXp-HHL has peak power about 10 mW.

Note: Before ordering, contact for list of currently available wavelengths.

1.6~2.4 mm SLM Laser Diodes in TO package
Laser diodes for spectral range 1.6~2.4 mm mounted in 9 mm (SOT-148) package (Models LDXXXp-TO) can operate in pulse mode without cooling. These lasers are based on GaSb/AlGaAsSb/InGaAsSb laser structures. Such laser diodes can be used as a coherent light source in mid-infrared spectral range.

Standard Models LDXXXp-TO are made on the base of narrow-stripe laser structures and have peak power about 50 mW and multi-mode (MM) or single transverse (ST) but not SLM mode structure.

2.7~3.8 mm Laser Diodes
Laser diodes for spectral range 2.7~3.8 mm are mounted on LA-type open packages which are necessary to be placed in cooling system. Operating temperature range for our 2.7~3.8 mm Laser Diodes is 30~100 K in CW regime and 30~150 K in pulse regime. Using laser structures based on III-V solid solutions gives us many advantages in comparison with laser structures based on lead salts due to fundamental characteristics of III-V materials - higher power, higher spectral purity, higher reliability and longer life-time.

Earlier lasing frequency was usually tuned only by heating. Besides this quite slow process our tunable diode lasers for spectral range of 2.7~3.8mm provide current controlled wavelength shift about 0.5~1.0 cm-1in single-mode lasing towards the shorter wavelength based on nonlinear optical phenomena.

Laser diode Models in which super-fast current tuning is available are marked with letters “tun” - for example model LD331-tun-LA. Other models (for example LD331-LA) can be tuned by changing the temperature. We are also offering Laser Diodes mounted in a small dewar. In this case model is marked with letters “DW” – LD331-DW or LD331-tun-DW.Standard Models LDXXX-LA and LDXXX-tun-LA are made from narrow-stripe laser structures and have average power about 1 mW and single longitudinal mode structure (SLM) that means that at determinate current and temperature range main mode is stronger then common intensity of other modes.
